Overdue Update!

Good morning!!

It has been quite some time since I last posted. Brian and I have been heavily involved in work.

Over the past few months, Brian has installed a new server, called many people about adding a new server and wiring, and best of all, got a raise! I on the other hand, boy, where to I begin...I have been to trainings galore (Thinking Maps, Teacher Evaluation, Restraints, etc), have walked classrooms, done interventions groups, and even about 60% completed with the Yearbook.

Needless to say, even though we've been busy, we also took time to try and have a baby. Yes, I say the word try. I'm going to try and divulge as much information as I can before my doctor's appointment, but I only have about 10 minutes left.

So, I'll start from the beginning. Last you heard from me was in August. I had just started my af forced by provera. For the whole month of September, Brian and I bd'd every other night like good little SME Planners are. We tracked ovulation and had scheduled bding sessions. Unfortunately, according to the OPKs (ovulation predictor kits), I never ovulated.

The month of September I received a spotting period. It was not a full flow, just rather a spot, for 8 days straight!!

I actually thought that I might be pregnant and that I was having implantation bleeding (IB). That is where you bleed as the baby attaches itself to your uterine lining. I was hopeful, and everyone on Pink Pad thought it could go either way.

But pregnancy test after pregnancy test (only 3 this time) proved otherwise. I was not pregnant.

My OB nurse said that spotting would be considered my period for the month and to continue on.

Now we're onto the month of October. Brian and I lost our fervor to continue to bd every other day. We bd occasionally. Maybe 2 times a week (at most 3).

When it came time for a period, I had none. I didn't get my hopes up. I didn't even take a pregnancy test. I just knew I wasn't pregnant.

Then came November. No period has shown since the spotting period in September, and all pregnancy tests came out negative. We continued to just bd...until Thanksgiving Break....

To be continued....

Back to the daily grind...

Well, on Monday I started back to work. But, prior to arriving to work (Sunday), I got a visitor! Yay. Now that it's over and done with, I can move onto to bigger and better things! :)

So,  not only did I start work, but I started my period. Honestly, my period has been easier to handle than work at this point.

I never thought that things that happened personally would this week. But, like the lessons I learned in college about guys, I am slowly learning about friends now. I want a friend who will be honest with me, be supportive of me, to have confidence in each other. I'm willing to put myself on the line for a friend, to go and help them whenever needed...I've realized that not all of my "friends" were willing to do that. At this point, I'm cutting the string and I have a professional relationship with some people now.

Onto other things: Now that I've finished my period, I can start the SMEP. You can look it up if you want details. But it is basically tracking my ovulation (with my ovulation kit) and baby-dancing every other day until you get that positive ovulation prediction. Then you baby dance twice, skip a day, baby dance again. Then you wait.

About 15-16 days after your positive ovulation prediction (and hopefully a few pregnancy symptoms) you take a hpt and then you wait and see.

Obviously, I'll let you know all the details as things go on (well, not all the details, duh).

Keep praying for us on our quest for a baby!

No more pills!

I finished my Provera pills on Sunday. Woo hoo. But now, I'm sitting here waiting for my flo to come.

Want to know something weird? I was spotting yesterday. Like literally, 5 spots when I wiped (sorry tmi).

Now today, nothing.

Of course, spotting is a sign of pregnancy and period. Hopefully, I'll start by next week.

Keep praying for me so that once I get my period we can start trying again!!

HPT, Doctors, and Pills. Oh my!

Well, as of today I am 31 days late. Crazy huh, you'd think you're definitely pregnant Kim! However, after the 7th home pregnancy test that was negative, I called the doctor.

I had a doctor's appointment on Thursday to get blood work done. I was excited to find out 100% yay or nay. So I arrive, the doctor checks outs my cervix, she said it's good. She said I don't have any cysts on my ovaries. Then I get to the blood work. Not bad actually. I didn't cry, it only pinched. I watched the needle in my arm.

After the blood work the doctor gave me provera. Provera is a pill that jump starts your period. Basically it is the hormone produced right before you start your period. When it gets heightened to a certain level then your period starts. I have to take 10 pills and after the 10th pill my period should start. I'm on pill 7. On Sunday I will take my last pill. Hopefully this week I'll start my period.

Then, I bought an ovulation kit!! Now I will be able to know when I've ovulated and go from there. Since that is my problem, I don't exactly know when I ovulated or IF I even ovulated last month.

The Doctor did tell me that if I don't ovulate this month/don't have a period, then she will put me on clomid. Gah! :( Let's hope it doesn't get to that!

Want to know a secret? One of Brian and I's baby names is Emily. And lo and behold, Florida may get hit with tropical storm Emily. So I keep making jokes to Brian about how tropical storm Emily will hit me in my belly. Hah. What a coincidence, eh.

Let's hope God has a baby in store for this month! <3

Visitors Part II

Well, I'm still visitor free this month. I am 20 days late, no symptoms at all and no positive tests. We've done the regular tests and digital tests. Our next step will be a blood test.

Brian and I go back and forth if I'm pregnant or not, but you just never know.

We have to put our trust 100% in God to know what is going on with my body. I'm perfectly fine with whatever God has in store because I know his ways are perfect!

He is showing how He is in control in all areas. I had "planned" this awesome idea of starting to try in July and thought that my plan would be perfect and have the baby at the end of next school year. But in actuality, God is showing me how to rely on him in this situation, give my concerns to God and help me see that it is His plan not my ways.

So I leave you with some uplifting verses that I am clinging to:

Proverbs 19:21
Many are the plans in a person's heart, but it is the Lord's purpose that prevails.

Hebrews 11:40
...Since God has planned something better for us so that only together with us would they be made perfect.

Jeremiah 29:11
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.

No visitors???!

Good afternoon!! It's been an eventful week here n the Orlando area! We've had the Casey Anthony trial verdict, the last space shuttle launch, and rain all week.

Want to know something we haven't had? A visit from my friend. Yup, that's right. Nothing. As of right now I'm 4 days late. But 2 tests later and still negative.

So at the Quigley household we are just living day by day. I don't think I'm pregnant, I have no symptoms. But again, I have no symptoms for period or for pregnancy.

I'd like to get something ya know. Rather than just sitting here in limbo. Sometimes I get cramps that feel like period, but nothing. Absolutely, nothing.

In other news, I have a free airline ticket (round trip)... Unfortunately, Brian and I would never use it (because there is 2 of us, we don't have the extra money to spend on hotels, and it's not going to NJ)...but we offered it to Aubrey (my cousin).. and she may actually take it!! Woo hooo. That would be great if she came. If she doesn't take it, then we'll sell it to someone... I have many offers on Facebook for it.

Well, I'll keep you all updated on whether or not my friend shows or if something else goes on! :)

Time for an Update!

Well, it's been quite an adventure! These past few months have been fun and stressful!

I finished up April with Spring break. It was a relaxing Spring break at home. Nothing too exciting.

May came, a VERY busy month. We had: Canstruction, Teacher Appreciation Week, Relay for Life, our field trip to St. Augustine, finish selling yearbooks, start wrapping up the year, FCAT Writing scores, and  FCAT Reading/Math scores.

June came, a somewhat busy month. We had: End of the Year, End of the Year luncheon, and then SUMMER (which I am on now).

Some news that occurred over the past few months:

1) Our FCAT writing scores were phenomenal! We went up 30%! From 70% to 91%. We were soo excited. But the, fourth and fifth grade reading and math scores came in. Not soo hot. We stayed the same in Reading (72%) and dropped 5% in Math (70%). Fifth grade was a little worse off. So next year we will be working on that.
2) I sold all 169 yearbooks!! I only had to sell 151 of them, but I sold the 18 extra that they sent me! Woo hoo! I'm so excited all my hard work paid off.
3) I was offered the Reading Coach position at my school! So next year I will be out of the classroom! I'm excited for this position. After 4 years, I think I'm ready to step out of the classroom and try a different position.
4) I had 2 days off from work, then I had 2 trainings (one for 3 days, the other for 4). I enjoy working. The trainings have been very educational and fun! I got to learn a lot more about my coworkers!!
5) The weekends of June have been tremendously busy!! June 3-4 was the only week free, June 11-12: Brian's birthday party, June 18-19: Betsy's birthday party (at our house) and then MIL day (while Brian had step-father day!), June 24-25: Grams, Gramps, and the fam are coming to our house! Pfhew! Tiring

Brian and I aren't expecting any baby yet. Still just waiting for the timing. We decided to try a few times, but when the expected due date calculator told me that it would be in March, we stopped. So it looks like we're going to wait until July to start trying fully.
I've been taking prenatals for about 3 months now. Unfortunately, my store bought vitamins are just about to run out. The good thing: free prenatals! How? You ask, well let me tell you! My insurance company has this program called "Healthy Babies Program." If you sign up before you get pregnant they will give you $200 after you have the baby. Free money, why not? Well, all you have to do is sign up for the program, get prescription prenatals, and take Lamaze classes. I can do that! I signed up for the program and got my "exemption" of prenatals. I had my prescription sent over from the doctors and my first prescription of prenatals filled. Next week I will start them.

I'm signing off. I will continue to let you know of the journey of trying to conceive! As of right now, the journey is a standstill at just taking prenatals! Butt I'm sure I will update more as I'm out of school and just hanging around! :)
